DAY 1 ATHENS – ZURICH – RHINE FALLS – LAUSANNE
Flight to Zurich. Arrival and immediate departure for the Rhine Falls in the canton of Schaffhausen. The body of water falls with a roar from above and forms a lake at its base, following its eternal course towards its mouth. We continue to Lausanne, built amphitheatrically over its lake. After our arrival, we will walk through its old part with its winding sidewalks and tiny squares and arrive at the 12th century Gothic Cathedral and the Museum of the Olympic Games in Ouchy (exterior). Transfer and check-in at the hotel. Overnight.
DAY 2 LAUSANNE – GENEVA – LAUSANNE
Breakfast and departure for cosmopolitan Geneva. Arrival and tour of the city, during which we will see buildings of International Organizations, such as the UN and the Red Cross, as well as the fountain that emerges from the lake and is, together with the colorful flowered clock, the symbol of the city. Free time to stroll through the old town with its cobbled streets, antique shops, small bookstores, restaurants and cafes. Return to Lausanne. Overnight.
DAY 3 LAUSANNE – GRIGIER – GSTAAD – MONTRE – LAUSANNE
After breakfast we will depart for the picturesque castle town of Gruyères, built at the foot of the Alps, with its traditional houses of the 15th and 17th centuries and the imposing castle of the 11th century, Château de Gruyères. Visit the Gruyère production workshop (if open) and continue to Gstaad, built at an altitude of 1,050m, located at the intersection of four valleys, surrounded by the peaks of the Alps. It offers its visitors the most modern winter sports facilities. Free time for walking. Next is the aristocratic Montreux. Return to Lausanne. Overnight.
DAY 4 LAUSANNE – BERN – INTERLAKEN – ZURICH
Breakfast and departure for Bern, “the city of fountains”, built on a bend of the river Aar. According to legend, the city’s founder Duke Bertold V named it after the first animal he killed on a hunt in 1191, a bear. Arrival and city tour. We will see the Parliament, the Clock tower, the imposing Cathedral and walk through the pedestrian streets with the medieval buildings. Continue to Interlaken, between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, just a stone’s throw from the Jungfrau massif. Final destination, Zurich, built in a magnificent location on the banks of a lake and two rivers. Arrival and check-in at the hotel. Overnight.
DAY 5 ZURICH – CONSTANZ (OPTIONAL)
Breakfast and city tour during which we will see the famous Bahnhofstrasse and the main pedestrian streets of the old town. We will admire the Fraumnster church with its impressive Chagall stained glass windows (exterior), the Cathedral, the Town Hall, the Clock Tower, the Linderhof hill, the bridges over the Limat river, etc. Free time to further explore the city. You can take part in an optional excursion to Konstanz, at the western end of the lake of the same name (individual expenses). It is located at an altitude of 400m. at the foot of the Alps and belongs to Germany, Switzerland and Austria. We will walk through its historic center and see the Imperia statue, the market square and the traditional beer halls. Return to Zurich. Overnight.
DAY 6 ZURICH – LUCERN – ZURICH – ATHENS
Breakfast and departure for Lucerne, built on the shores of the lake of the four cantons. Arrival and tour of its well-preserved medieval center with the old Town Hall, the characteristic picturesque wooden bridge, the Lion monument, etc. In the early afternoon transfer to Zurich airport and board the flight to Athens.
The 5-day program does not include the 3rd day.
