DAY 1 M. THURSDAY: ATHENS – CORFU
Morning departure for Rio-Antirrio, crossing the bridge and continuing to Igoumenitsa with intermediate stops. Boarding the ferry to Corfu and arrival at the newly built RODOSTAMO HOTEL & SPA 5* hotel in Kommeno. Tidying up the rooms. Dinner.
DAY 2 M. PARASKEVI: PALEOKASTRITSA – KASSIOPI
Breakfast and introduction to the island. We start with the northern part and a visit to the workshop for the preparation of the local sweet kumquat. We continue to Paleokastritsa, an earthly “paradise” with six picturesque bays. The Monastery of Zoodochos Pigis projects high on the rock. Following a beautiful route we reach Kassiopi, where we will have free time in the picturesque port to enjoy our meal in one of the traditional taverns. Return to the hotel, rest and transfer to the city to watch the procession of the Epitaph in Spianada. Dinner.
DAY 3 M. SATURDAY: BREAKING JUGS – MON REPO
Breakfast and departure for the Divine Liturgy at Agios Spyridon. The highlight comes around 11:00, where the custom of breaking the jugs takes place! From every corner of the city can be heard the sound of jugs being broken by the locals, bells ringing, bands playing joyful marches. We continue with Mon Repo with its flowery gardens and the imposing 19th century building home to Princess Sissy. Return to the hotel, dinner and in the evening transfer to Resurrection.
DAY 4 EASTER SUNDAY: EASTER LUNCH – KANONI – PONTIKONISI – CITY
Breakfast and free time to enjoy the ovelia roasting, the hotel amenities and events, the buffet and the Easter meal, with traditional music and dancing. In the afternoon departure for Kanoni and the thousand-sung Pontikonissi! A visit to the Vlachernon Monastery and we will end up in Spianada Square, in the center of the city. Time for a walk and coffee and we return to the hotel.
DAY 5 EASTER MONDAY: CORFU – ATHENS
Breakfast and transfer to the port, where we will board the ferry to Igoumenitsa. Arrival and boarding the coach, we start our journey back to Athens with intermediate stops.
